A Smile That Will Last

The Benefits Of Veneers

Porcelain veneers are the most long-lasting cosmetic dental treatment, and can easily last 15 years with proper care, and they can be used to treat almost any cosmetic dental issue. Not only that, but they are very durable and completely stain-resistant, which ensures your smile will look great for years to come.

Veneers also look and feel completely natural. Nobody will be able to tell the difference between your veneers and your real teeth. You can even care for them just like natural teeth. By brushing and flossing properly, and seeing Dr. Reddy for an appointment every six months, you can have a beautiful smile that will last a lifetime.

What To Expect

The Veneers Placement Process

In most cases, it takes two appointments over a 2-3 week period to get veneers after you’re approved for treatment. First, you’ll come into SmileWell Dental to have your teeth prepared. Dr. Reddy will clean and numb your mouth, then remove some enamel from each tooth that is getting a veneer in order to ensure that each veneer fits perfectly.

Dr. Reddy will then take impressions of your teeth. She will send these to a partner dental lab, which is where your veneers will be custom-built. To protect your newly trimmed teeth, a temporary set will be placed until your custom veneers are ready.

In about 2-3 weeks, your veneers will arrive at SmileWell Dental, and you’ll come in for your final appointment. Dr. Reddy will double-check your veneers to make sure they fit perfectly, then bond them into place permanently, completing the procedure.

Caring For Your New Smile

For the most part, you can treat your veneers just like natural teeth. Brush at least twice a day and floss once a day, and make sure you see Dr. Reddy for an oral exam and dental hygiene appointment every six months.

However, you should take a few steps to protect your new smile. Do not chew extremely hard foods such as almonds or ice with your front teeth, or chew on any non-food objects like fingernails, pens, or pencils.

You should also avoid using your teeth as “tools” to rip tape, tear packages open, and for other such things. Your teeth are meant for chewing, and not for anything else. Taking these steps will help you avoid dislodging, chipping, or otherwise damaging your veneers.
